Cranberry Cottage Newsletter

July/August/September 2007

Is it Summer already?

I’m sure Spring is supposed to be longer, but I can’t figure out a way to make it work, so I guess Summer it will have to be.

I don’t know about you, but my Spring was wonderful with a visit from our youngest daughter, who helps us so much with this growing business. We think great together and have a lot of fun.

Now, this wonderful visit brought some great new ideas we are working on for our happy sewing customers. We were hoping to have them available to you for this newsletter, but it isn’t all that easy to get the ball rolling and come up with pattern, pictures, and instructions, but we love the challenge, and we are working hard to get this new creative side out to you.

We hope you will be excited when these new things come out, because we are not just exclusively a pattern maker for basket liners. We will be having a new place to look on our site, called “Nana’s Attic”.

Coming in “Nana’s Attic” will be a fun, charming Purse Pattern (reversible, like our basket liner patterns) so you will have two purses with one fell swoop! We're excited also about the Cup Cozy Cover we have come up with that can be personalized to your tastes, be reversible if you choose, and was a big hit with the family vacation crowd who wanted more! Then, we are headed to the ‘green’ side of our lives, and have come up with a great new cloth Grocery Bag Pattern that will be able to be used over and over, eliminate the need to cut down so many beautiful green trees, and save our landfills from the plastic bags. Plus they are strong and washable if you use the right materials. All that information will be coming when the patterns are available for purchase.

Cottage Tip!

Loving fabric like I do, I like to use anything I can made out of fabric and imagine its possibilities! I also like a great deal! So this Cottage Tip is actually a no sew idea I came up with as I found a great bargain with something made from material! I found some quilted pillow shams for $1.99 a piece. So, I bought 10 of them and thought that they would be the perfect valance for my screened in porch. See what you think? I already had an Americana theme going for the room and couldn't pass up the deal of having lined valances for such a large space at such a small price. I used 7 shams for the valances which I just stapled up and 1 as a table cloth for the small wicker table. The local thrift stores also have great shirts and skirts that can be used as fabric for your basket liners, so don't forget to look around and imagine the possibilities! Maybe you'll find something and send us a picture for our Customer Creations page!

Until next time,

Your quality team at Cranberry Cottage
